Looking back...

...I don't think I'll win any blogger of the year awards. I realized that one of the last posts talked about Sarah the Mouse and her untimely death. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but [what was that other mouse's name again?] died shortly after. And then the hamster, [don't remember her name either], shortly after that. I think we've come to the conclusion that we had a bad batch of wood chips, but that's beside the point. Now...now we have Nibbles and Shyanne (because she's shy, get it?). They're guinea pigs. I'll let you process that while I try to remember to take a picture...

No Comment Necessary

Necessary comment: I didn't take this picture, it was sent to me by the class room mom. So yes, he DOES act like that all the time...

Talent Show Tryouts

Here was how the final product came out! They did great...even though they didn't make it. :(

I'm impressed. They choreographed this and everything by themselves. The shirts? That's my tidbit of talent... :)

Talent Show Rehearsals

SO, I learned how to upload videos to YouTube from my phone. It's a gigantic pain in the rear, but totally worth it for gems like this...

Preston and his friend signed up (very last minute) for the talent show. This was their (one and only) rehearsal...what was that little arm poke in the beginning? Oh, that was turning Preston the robot "on."

Gambling? Homework.

This week, we taught Preston how to play craps for his "math facts" time. Obviously, he doesn't know it's craps, but we most definitely did. Smartest game ever - he rolled a number, then if it wasn't a 7 or 11, he had to tell us all the ways the dice could make his number again... Poor parenting? I think NOT...

RIP

Sara the mouse died today. It was heart-breaking, even though he knew before he went to bed last night that it was probably going to happen. (I actually think Moleese is on her way out, too, but we'll see. We promised to buy him a hamster if they both died.) Anyway, we're going to have a funeral tonight. Preston wants to bury her under his window in the backyard -- all I can seem to focus on is the fact that our yorkie is bred to ferret out small rodents, and I'm pretty sure Sara will end up in pieces all over the backyard. Logisitics aside, I am honored to have been asked to sing at her funeral. P: Mom, *sniff* will you sing at Sara's funeral? Me: Sure honey, what do you want me to sing? P: I don't know, [pause] maybe, *sniff* Three Blind Mice...? hehehehehehehe...of course I agreed.
